Description
The acid-base balance of our body is a complex regulatory system. It ensures that the vital blood pH value is kept constant and that the necessary pH value always prevails in the different areas of the body. It is important to know that acids and bases are not good or bad. What matters is the balance. As long as the different regions maintain their required pH value, the body's metabolism works without problems. If this balance of acids and bases in the body gets out of whack, it has a negative effect on our health in the long run.
BWT water⁺ balance raises the pH of tap water to a value between 8 and 9*. Alkaline water (alkaline water) makes an essential contribution to maintaining physical well-being by keeping the acid-base balance in balance
Alkalis. Due to a poor diet, too little exercise and too much stress, our bodies tend to become over-acidic. Numerous diseases (such as exhaustion, rheumatic diseases, osteoporosis, diabetes) are suspected to occur as a result of hyperacidity. Today's eating habits can produce large amounts of acids, the disposal of which can overburden the body. Alkaline water helps the body to balance the excess acid. Drinking alkaline water can restore the acid-base balance and thus counteract hyperacidity.

FAQs
Tap water usually has a largely neutral pH value of around 7, but the exact pH value varies from region to region - you can find out from your local water company.
Filtration with our Balanced Alkalized Water cartridge raises the pH value of the water to around 8 to 9 (depending on the pH value of the incoming water and the water hardness).
To achieve an optimal filter effect, you should replace the filter cartridge every four weeks at the latest.
If, however, the Easy-Control (model A) shows 100 fillings on the display before the four weeks have elapsed, the filter cartridge must be replaced before the four weeks have elapsed. This is indicated by a flashing filter cartridge on the display.
- It is best to store the filtered water in your refrigerator.
- Our models fit ideally into most refrigerator doors on the market.
- The filtered water should not be stored for more than 24 hours.
If the water should remain in the jug for longer than 24 hours, pour the water away and filter fresh water.
A special process that takes place in the filter during the filtration process increases the pH value of the water. In addition, the BWT filter cartridge for Balanced Alkalized Water reduces the content of heavy metals such as lead or copper as well as taste-disturbing substances such as chlorine in the water.
Alkalised water can be used for preparing tea, coffee and food. However, compared to our other filter technologies, it should be noted that the Balanced Alkalised Water cartridge does not provide limescale protection for appliances such as coffee makers or kettles.
Basically, the pH value of the water can be determined with commercially available pH meters or with test strips - here the results are somewhat less precise.
You can find out what the pH value of your water is in test reports from your waterworks.
In the BWT table water filter system, the drinking water is filtered in four stages:
Stage 1: Particles are filtered out of the water.
Stage 2: Depending on which filter cartridge technology you have chosen, the water is treated accordingly:
- Soft Filtered Water Extra: Limescale and heavy metal content are increasingly reduced.
- Magnesium Mineralised Water: Limescale and heavy metal content are reduced, calcium ions are replaced by magnesium ions.
- Magnesium Mineralized Water + ZINC: Calcium and heavy metal content are reduced, calcium ions are replaced by magnesium ions and zinc is added to the water.
- Balanced Alkalized Water: The heavy metal content is reduced and the pH value of the water is increased to >8.5.
Stage 3: Odour- and taste-disturbing substances such as chlorine and certain organic impurities are filtered out of the water.
Stage 4: Fine filtration is carried out.
It is actually impossible for you to drink too much alkaline water. Our filter is designed so that the pH value is in a range that cannot have a negative influence on the body in any way.
The daily water requirement of an adult is around two to three litres.

Filter cartridges and filter filling: Dispose of exhausted filter cartridges and filter fillings in household waste.

The "Easy-Control" change indicator is an electronic component that must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations and legal requirements. The change indicator can be removed from the cover with the aid of a screwdriver placed on the edge of the "Easy-Control". The "Easy-Control" should only be removed from the cover during disposal.
The service life of the filter cartridge varies depending on the place of use, as the water is not the same everywhere. The capacity of the filter cartridge depends on the hardness of the water. The harder the water, the sooner the filter cartridge is exhausted.

The substances indicated, e.g. lead and copper, which are reduced by the filter, are not present in all drinking water. The filter cartridges meet the microbiological requirements for water filters according to DIN 10521. The requirements according to DIN 10521 for chlorine, lead and copper retention are also met.
The human body tends to over-acidify easily, for example due to a wrong diet. Alkaline water helps the body to balance this excess acidity.
There are no restrictions on the use of alkaline water - it is suitable for all age groups.
Our general recommendation is to boil tap water for babies before use. This also applies to any other water treated with BWT table water filters.
The same also applies to groups of people with a reduced immune system. Here, too, we recommend boiling the water before use.
Alkaline water helps to counteract hyperacidity in the body.
Drinking alkaline water, however, is not a substitute for a conscious, balanced diet.
