It is best to clean your BWT table water filter once a week with mild detergent and rinse it thoroughly with warm water. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents or scouring pads for this, as scratch marks may appear on the table water filter system. The jug and funnel are dishwasher-safe.

We generally recommend leaving the lid with the "Easy-Control" function in the lid insert and cleaning it by hand, as the "Easy-Control" is not dishwasher safe.

Our filter granulate consists of a carefully balanced mixture of activated carbon and ion exchangers. Thanks to its large surface structure, the activated carbon binds taste-impairing substances such as chlorine and chlorine compounds. The ion exchangers absorb lime-forming substances and heavy metals such as lead and copper and thus remove them from the filtered water.

The globally unique BWT patent, which is also used in BWT table water filters, provides effective protection against limescale, among other things. For example, when the filtered water is used in hot water appliances such as a coffee machine or kettle. Although the water in a table water filter is not softened in the classic sense, it is decarbonised. In this process, the total hardness bound to the carbonate hardness (temporary hardness) is exchanged for hydrogen, and at the same time the pH value in the water is reduced. In a classic softening process, the entire hardness (temporary and permanent) would be exchanged. The effect is the same: the water is softened, your appliances are protected from annoying limescale deposits.

We will replace the defective part completely (e.g. the lid) within the scope of the legal warranty of 2 years and send the replacement part postage paid to the end user.

• Do not filter more than eight to ten litres of water per day.
• Only use cold tap water that meets the legal requirements for drinking water. BWT table water filters are not suitable for preparing water of questionable origin into drinking water.
• For people with reduced immune defences and for the preparation of baby food, we recommend additionally boiling the filtered water.

• If use is interrupted for a longer period of time, we recommend that you store the table water filter system including filter cartridge in the refrigerator.
• If there is a break in use of more than two days - for example, due to a weekend - we recommend that you pour away the first filling and refill the table water filter.
• If your table water filter is not used for a period of more than two weeks, you should replace the filter cartridge.
