Higher than usual running costs and frequent break­downs of the prac­tice’s auto­clave was not only pushing up running costs but was also disrup­tive and worrying for the busy prac­tice. Inves­ti­ga­tions by Surgery@102’s own main­te­nance team iden­ti­fied limescale as a major factor in the frequent break­downs and a result of an RO (Reverse Osmosis) system that the prac­tice had outgrown. With access to high purity water of utmost impor­tance to ensure proper hygiene was deliv­ered to their customers, Surgery@102 needed a modern reli­able replace­ment system.

After speaking to the prac­tice about its issues, Surgery@102’s own engi­neer recom­mended BWT’s services. The engi­neer, whom has a long trust­worthy rela­tion­ship with the clinic, advised that BWT’s prod­ucts are high quality and reli­able. Agreed in prin­ciple, the engi­neer then set up a call between the clinic and BWT to discuss further.

Given the needs of the busy prac­tice, a need for high purity water on tap, low running costs and reli­a­bility a BWT THERO 90 RO solu­tion was agreed upon.

The BWT THERO 90 is perfect for dental prac­tices like Surgery@102 driven by tech­nology this compact 'reverse osmosis' system provides high purity water on demand. It removes at least 98% of any unde­sir­able elements like any heavy metals, microplas­tics, bacteria, viruses, hormones, nitrates, limescale these and any other cont­a­m­i­nants are washed away.

The BWT THERO 90 is highly effi­cient and can produce 1.5 litres of water per minute, without the need for a storage tank. Espe­cially impor­tant for a prac­tice like Surgery@102 where hygiene safety is para­mount, the membrane is flushed for 10 seconds after each produc­tion or every 3 hours whichever occurs first. The advanced single cartridge system can be replaced simply thanks to the auto shut of feature housed in the head of the aluminium housing. The THERO 90 is supplied with its own tap helping to preventing cross cont­a­m­i­na­tion.

After the prompt instal­la­tion by a BWT company engi­neer, the surgery expressed they were impressed with the speed of the instal­la­tion and how far BWT were willing to phys­i­cally travel to their customers. BWT also ensured that Surgery@102 had all the adequate infor­ma­tion, so they were equipped to operate the system going forward.
