The BWT D1 pressure reducer protects the water supply system ans appliances in single and multi-family houses, commercial and industrial buildings from the potentially damaging effects of excessive mains water supply pressure in accordance with ÖNORM EN 806–2 in conjunction with DIN 1988–200. I t helps to avoid pressure damage, reduce water consumption and ensure sound insulation through reduced vibration and 'knocking'. The D1 is used to reduce the pressure and regulate the desired downstream pressure and keep it constant, even if the upstream pressure fluctuates significantly. A constant and not too high pressure protects fittings and devices in the entire water supply system.

FAQ

What is a pressure reducer needed for?

The BWT D1 pressure reducer protects water supply systems in single and multi-family houses, commercial and industrial buildings from excessive supply pressure in accordance with ÖNORM EN 806-2 in conjunction with DIN 1988-200. It thus helps to avoid pressure damage, reduce water consumption and ensure sound insulation. The D1 is used to reduce the pressure and regulate the desired downstream pressure and keep this constant, even if the upstream pressure fluctuates significantly. A constant and not too high pressure protects fittings and devices in the entire water supply system.

What problems can arise from pressure fluctuations or without a pressure reducer in water pipes?

  • Water leaks from poor joints and damaged pipes
  • In extreme cases even burst water pipes
  • Noise nuisance due to pressure peaks that can cause vibration and 'knocking'
  • Increased water consumption and costs

Does a pressure reducer have to be serviced?

ÖNORM EN 806-5 recommends that a pressure reducer be inspected or serviced annually.

Masterpiece

D1 - The new BWT pressure reducer impresses with its construction, the choice of materials, and its very easy operation and last but not least, the optimization of pressure and flow behavior: expressed in a number - Kvs value* 9.3m³/h (DN 25).

  • Patented Venturi effect delivers the highest flow rate with perfect pressure control
  • Up to 50% heavier than comparable products (e.g. weight D1 Red 1 “: 1.7 kg vs. competitor 1.14–1.4 kg)
  • Up to 16 or 25 bar inlet pressure

*The Kvs value expresses the flow rate in a pressure regulating valve when the valve is fully open and a pressure differential of 1 bar.
